CLEARLAKE >> The wildlife art murals painted by south county youth as part of the Clearlake Wildlife Youth Art Project will be on display at the Clearlake Community Center on August 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will be a part of the city’s second annual presentation to update residents about what’s happening locally.
After the evening is over, the murals will be hung throughout the city on the buildings of their sponsors. Seen all together they are an outstanding testament to the talent and dedication of the students and adults who have worked so hard to bring this project to a successful finish.
The Community Center is located at 3245 Bowers St. in Clearlake. The open house begins at 5 p.m. with an opportunity for the public to speak with various city employees. Refreshments will be served.
At 6 p.m. a presentation begins with speakers outlining what has been accomplished and plans for the days ahead.
The Children’s Museum of Art and Science (CMAS) and the Art House Gallery co-sponsored the Clearlake Wildlife Youth art Project as a public service to enhance student engagement with their community and provide an opportunity for the enjoyment of art in public places.
